Former Disney Interactive VP John Vignocchi Leaves Gearbox And Joins Nintendo Of America

John G. Vigoncchi the Executive Producer at Gearbox Publishing has recently revealed on his Twitter account that he’s left hi position at Gearbox for his "dream job" at Nintendo America.

Vignocchi noted that he will be “driving developer and publisher relations for North America, so that Nintendo can continue to bring amazing content to all fans. and help them continue the tradition of building memories through Nintendo that will last a lifetime”.

John G. Vignocchi came into the development scene in 2000 and was one of the driving forces behind Midway's NBA Ballers franchise. On August 15th, 2008, Vignocchi left Midway Games to help start up a new Chicago-based studio for Vogster Entertainment. There, he oversaw the production of an original IP for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 and assisted the company with business development. 

Vignocchi left Vogster Entertainment in 2009 to join Disney Interactive as a development director. He was promoted to Executive Producer of the Disney Infinity franchise in 2010. In 2016, he was laid off along with the rest of Disney Interactive as the studio was shut down as Disney at large decided to leave game development.


In October 2018 Vignocchi  joined Gearbox Publishing, as Executive Producer of a "new tent-pole franchise for the company". He spent just seven months at Gearbox before his departure to work at Nintendo America.
