Japanese developer Artdink revealed via Twitter, that they are developing a new A-Train game for Nintendo Switch.
A-Train (known in Japan as A Ressha de Ikou, or "Take the A-Train") is a series of train simulation games that were originally developed and published by developer Artdink in Japan. The first release in the West was Take the A-Train II, published in 1988 by the Seika Corporation under the title Railroad Empire. However, the most well-known release in the West is Take the A-Train III, published in 1992 by Maxis as simply A-Train.
The Japanese developer has also released several sequels to A-Train, the most recent being A-Train 9 which was released for Windows in 2010 in Japan. A-Train Express, a port of A-Train 9 with PlayStation VR support, was released for PlayStation 4 in 2017 in Japan and in 2019 in the West.
The latest game in the series, A-Train: City Simulator, was published by Natsume for the 3DS in Japan in 2014, and in North America and Europe in 2015.
