Tribute Games has announced that the upcoming side-scrolling action platformer Panzer Paladin will release for Nintendo Switch and PC on July 21,2020. Watch the teaser trailer below.
Story of Panzer Paladin
Legions of demons led by the evil Ravenous have invaded Earth, and are ready for battle. The current circumstance seems bleak, but humanity has one hope and that is the Paladin, a mech power armor. A rescue android named Flame becomes a Squire and is chosen to pilot a Paladin called Grit. Her mission to find and defeat all of the evil Weapon Keepers and eventually Ravenous himself. The showdown between the forces of the occult and the power of cutting-edge technology has begun.
Gameplay
In this 8-bit style game, the player is in control either as the strong power armor called the Paladin or as the small but swift Squire pilot. As the Paladin, the player can pick up melee weapons dropped by defeated enemies. The swordplay mechanic includes high versus low attacking and blocking and a rock-paper-scissor weapon type system that grants attack bonuses. It is also possible to cast different types of spells by breaking weapons.
The player may also eject from the power armor and play as the small Squire pilot. The Squire wields a laser whip and can swing and attack enemies at a distance. The whip can also be used to recharge the Paladin's energy.
